Tribal Elders teach that all things are an equal part of the whole. All Earth’s children share an equal place in the circle. Four sacred colors represent the Four Directions. East represents birth with the sun’s warmth. South represents youth and the red vitality of life-blood. West represents maturity and the dark night sky. North is age’s wisdom and the purity of snow. With blue for Sky and green for Land, the colors mix to create brown, the color of Mother Earth.
